Who this covers
Shop Connect is used by shop owners ("shops") and by the shops' customers who choose to join them on WhatsApp ("customers"). Each shop decides to use Shop Connect and is responsible for its relationship with its customers. We process customer data on the shop's behalf.
What we collect
- Shop owners: mobile number (for sign-in by one-time code), name, shop name, address and category, and the WhatsApp Business account and phone number the shop connects through Meta.
- Customers: WhatsApp phone number and WhatsApp profile name, the time and text of the consent shown when they joined, messages they send to the shop's WhatsApp number, coupons issued and redeemed, and the offers sent to them with their delivery status.
- From Meta: message delivery and read statuses, and account quality information needed to send messages reliably.
We do not collect payment details, location tracking or contacts from anyone's phone.
How we use it
- To reply to a customer who messages a shop: a welcome note, a coupon, and a consent line ("You'll get offers from <shop> on WhatsApp. Reply STOP anytime.").
- To let the shop see its customers, redeem coupons and send offers. Every offer is reviewed and approved by the shop owner before it is sent.
- To honour opt-outs: when a customer replies STOP, they receive no further offers.
- To keep the service working and safe, for example pausing sends when WhatsApp reports a delivery problem.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use customer data for advertising outside the shop the customer joined.
Sharing
- With the shop: a shop sees only its own customers. One shop never sees another shop's customers.
- Meta (WhatsApp): messages are sent and received through the WhatsApp Business Platform.
- Service providers: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure hosts our servers and database, and Google Firebase provides phone sign-in. Both are bound by their own data-protection terms.

Where data is stored
Our servers and database are hosted by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the United States. Data is transferred there from India over encrypted connections.
Retention
We keep a shop's data while the shop uses Shop Connect. Customer data is kept until the customer or the shop asks for it to be deleted, or the shop closes its account.
Your rights and data deletion
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask for a copy of your data, correction, or deletion, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Stop messages: reply STOP to the shop's WhatsApp number (or to any offer).
- Get a copy or delete your data: ask the shop you joined; the shop can export or permanently delete your record from the Shop Connect app. Or write to us at the address below with your WhatsApp number and the shop's name, and we will do it within 30 days.
- Shop owners: write to us to close your account and delete your shop's data.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. WhatsApp access tokens are stored encrypted. Access is limited to the shop's own account.
Children
Shop Connect is not meant for people under 18.
